| Ingleside Plantation Vineyards, built in the 1830's as the Washington Academy for boys of Westmoreland County is one of the oldest and largest wineries in Virginia. It is part of a 3,000 acre estate which has been owned by the Flemer family for over one hundred years. Charles H. Flemer purchased Ingleside in 1890 and today one of his great-great grandsons is proprietor of Ingleside Winery. Also on site is a small free museum of native American history and natural history. |
