Ingleside Plantation
Ingleside Plantation Vineyards, built in the 1830's as the Washington Academy for boys of Westmoreland County is one of the oldest and largest wineries in Virginia. It is part of a 3,000 acre estate which has been owned by the Flemer family for over one hundred years. Charles H. Flemer purchased Ingleside in 1890 and today one of his great-great grandsons is proprietor of Ingleside Winery. Also on site is a small free museum of native American history and natural history.
